About the Division
The Strategic Affairs Division serves as the core platform of StratVision Forum for the study, research, and discussion of national security, defence, strategic studies, geopolitics, and emerging security challenges. It seeks to promote a comprehensive understanding of the strategic environment in which states, institutions, and societies operate, while encouraging informed and responsible engagement with issues affecting national and international security. Recognising the growing complexity of contemporary security, the Division examines both traditional military threats and emerging challenges, including terrorism, cyber threats, technological competition, climate-related risks, organised crime, critical infrastructure vulnerabilities, and new forms of warfare. Its interdisciplinary approach draws upon defence studies, political science, international relations, security studies, technology, economics, and geography. Particular attention is given to India's strategic interests and security environment, including defence preparedness, border and maritime security, military modernisation, defence technology, strategic partnerships, regional security, and developments in the Indo-Pacific and India's neighbourhood. Through research, seminars, conferences, expert interactions, publications, and policy-oriented initiatives, the Division provides a platform for academics, students, defence professionals, researchers, and strategic analysts. It also encourages young scholars to develop critical thinking and a nuanced understanding of national security and strategic decision-making.
